Creek Shelves

The two sides of these shelves were made from a beautifully worn length of driftwood which I found washed up on the shore at the mouth of Oare Creek. At fifteen feet long and waterlogged, this was far too heavy for my bicycle so I had to return in my car with a saw and a trolley .
The top is 14 inches deep and held between two carved scroll end-pieces (loosely inspired by Greek columns).
The shelves stand 68 inches high and are 28 inches wide, just right to fit into an alcove.
