This writing desk is named after the drips which are carved into the sides and drawer-front.
The legs are made from two curved lengths of driftwood mahogany which appear to be gunnels (gunwales), or top edges of sides of boats which have broken up in the sea and found their way into Oare Creek where I found them stranded in the mud. I had originally intended to use them as legs for a coffee table, but other pieces of mahogany and mahogany-like woods in my driftwood stock suggested otherwise and this is the result.
The sloping top lifts to reveal a shallow storage space for writing paper while the drawer provides storage for pens and other writing/drawing equipment.
Overall height is 33 inches, width is 25 inches, and depth is 14 inches.
