Riverbank chair |
|
The piece of blackened oak
which forms the back of this chair was found in Sarre Penn, a small
stream which rises in Blean Woods north of Canterbury and runs through
the magical Broad oak valley towards Sandwich.
The seat is carved from a thick cedar plank which was washed-up on the banks of the river Medway near Rochester, and all the other timbers came from my usual hunting ground alongside Oare Creek near Faversham. |
