This was carved from a rare find of driftwood walnut which was found washed-up on the shore at Harty Ferry near Faversham. The original piece of wood, being flat on one side only, was probably a discarded first-cut from a saw-mill. By the time I found it, the flat side had been heavily eaten into by rot and the resultant shape of the piece inspired the shark design.
