Submarine Cabinet

This is another of those occasional coloured pieces that I make when I have enough painted driftwood in my wood-shed. The predominance of grey and the use of valve handles on the drawer and door reminded me of a submarine, hence the name.
The two side panels and the shelf were originally part of a box which I found washed up on the rocks while looking for fossils in Folkestone with my children.
The composite Oak slab which forms the top was found alongside Oare Creek on a New Year's day walk with friends. This defined the size of the cabinet: 21 inches wide by 17 inches deep. Overall height is 36 inches, the standard height for kitchen worktops.
